The 4 Components Of A UPS You Need To Know

As one of the most prominent name of Inverter battery dealers in chennai, we like to disseminate basic knowledge to all our clients. To this end, we describe the four main parts a UPS battery.

 • The static bypass is the first line of defense in case the UPS system fails from within. It closes the circuit and makes sure that the power diverts from the other three components and goes directly to the load.

 • The rectifier performs two functions. The first is to convert the incoming A/C power to D/C, and the other is to charge the batteries inside the UPS.

 • The main component of every UPS is the battery. When power fails, it is the battery of the UPS that supports the load.

 • The inverter part of the UPS accepts the current as it passes from the rectifier to the battery to the D/C buss. When an outage of power happens, the battery begins to feed the D/C buss the power needed. When the batteries are depleted, the UPS will not be able to support any load. In such cases, the only way to ensure continued supply of power is to attach an external source like a generator.
